The SD1200 has some big changes over its predecessor SD1100, and is the smallest, best designed Elph I've used thus far... .(continue)
Wow! This is the 3rd Cannon Elph camera that I have owned. Cannon hit a home run with this one. I can't seem to take a bad picture with this camera. I use it for work and take pictures all day long under different situations... . (continue)
I love the improved shutter lag time. (still has one but it is better!) The camera comes on quickly, after you have taken a photo, there is not a long wait before you can take another. I was able to easily capture my busy 3 and 4 year old kids in motion without blur (this is HUGE!)... (continue)
I got this camera because my son is nearly 2 and I'd noticed that my photo taking had dramatically dropped off. He'd be doing something adorable and I'd run to get the camera and by the time I got back he'd be five activities past whatever he'd been doing... . (continue)
The Canon Powershot takes pictures superfast and ultra-clear. It even takes photos with a subtle depth of field, in other words you can focus on something in the foreground and the background will be slightly blurred... (continue)

For camera shoppers looking for quality at a low price, the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Digital ELPH is just about perfect. Its wide range of high-end features, user-friendly interface, convenient build and design, coupled with its compact size makes it ideal for all users be it an amateur or a veteran.
Generally all the feedback received for this model were good, but
there were a few disadvantages here and there like for some users, its
flat buttons were hard to use, it sometimes made a few noises, it did
not come with a memory card (you have to buy the memory card
separately) and that the manual had to be downloaded from the
website.
However, much has to be said about th eoutstanding features, functions, and specifications of the Canon PowerShot SX1200IS. The Canon PowerShot SD1200IS takes exceptionally good photos with less hassle involved. It is not that hard to learn how to use it.
For a point and shoot model, it has a good resolution of 10 megapixels. Images taken can be printed out as large as 13 x 19 inches without lowering its quality. It has a 3x optical zoom, and has Canon’s image stabilizing technology which helps avoid fuzzy even with slight hand movement while taking the picture. Its 2.5 inch scratch-resistant PureColor LCD allows images to be reviewed with ease, be it outdoors or in lowlight.
Its size is just right and it is protected with anti-reflective coating. The “Smart Auto” option is also available for the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS, wherein the camera chooses the proper setting from 18 specially defined settings. It has 17 shooting modes to make room for different types of situations users might be in.
As with the other Digital ELPH cameras, the Canon PowerShot SX1200IS comes with the DIGIC 4 image processor and iSAPS Technology; which is Canon’s original scene-recognition technology. These two work together to ensure the camera works better and faster in relation with its focusing capacity, and some other factors involving the image capturing process.
Additional Features of the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS:
o Red-eye Correction – automatically adjusts images to remove the pesky red-eye effect that happens in some pictures taken with flash (also has the option to remove it manually)
o Intelligent Contrast Correction – brightens some dark areas to make pictures look better while leaving bright areas unchanged
o Face Detection Self-Timer – allows more ease when taking group images as the camera detects movement and adjusts itself depending on the number of faces it senses, no hassle or haste needed
